Things You Should Know Today
STRAIGHT FROM THE DPCC TEAM
Chatham County’s Board of Registrars and Board of Elections are currently separate.
The Board of Registrars handles voter rolls, early voting and absentee ballots. The Board of Elections handles election administration.
Keeping these functions separate creates an important firewall.
Under Georgia law, including provisions enacted through SB 202, alleged systemic election problems can invite state intervention. Combining the boards could put all election functions in one basket and could make it easier for an isolated issue to be used to justify broader scrutiny or loss of local control.
Please Take Action:
Attend the joint meeting:
Monday, July 13, at noon - 117 Eisenhower Drive, Savannah. Please sign up for public comment when you arrive or you may not be allowed to speak.
Attend monthly Board of Elections meetings:
Second Monday of each month at 3:30 p.m. 117 Eisenhower Drive, Savannah . Constructive public comments are needed.
Thank you for showing up to protect voting rights, election access, and local control of Chatham County elections.

Leadership
We work to elect Democratic candidates, support grassroots organizing, and strengthen civic participation throughout Chatham County. Through advocacy, outreach, and coalition building, we help ensure every voice has an opportunity to be heard.
People-Powered Progress
Our work begins with the community. From neighborhood meetings and voter engagement efforts to volunteer opportunities and local initiatives, we bring people together around the issues that matter most to Chatham County families.
Organizing for Chatham County
We believe lasting progress comes from active participation and shared responsibility. By supporting fair representation, expanding voter access, and investing in local leadership, we're helping build a stronger future for everyone in our community.
Georgia Democrats believe . . .
That the American Dream of opportunity for all should guide government policies at all levels.
That good decisions by our government promote economic security for all Georgians.
In and uphold every citizen's right to equal and impartial justice under the law.
That the creation of good jobs for all Georgians is our top priority.
It is our responsibility to leave our children and grandchildren an earth that is safe and livable for future generations.
All our citizens have the right to safety and security.
All students should have access to a high-quality public education.
Access to quality, affordable healthcare is a basic, human right.
